All appropriations are in 2026-prices. Since the publication in 2024, the statistic has had Research reserve funds added as a separate line under both socio-economic objectives and sectors. For the current year, the entire budget allocation for research purposes was not distributed at the time of collection, and as a result, a portion will appear under the Research reserve funds. The Research reserve funds were not fully allocated in 2027, 2028, and 2029 when the data was collected. A new distribution on socio-economic objectives for the higher education sector was implemented in 2012; see also footnote to foubud1.
