The data only includes children enrolled in day nurseries and kindergartens during periods when the municipality of residence and the municipality of care are the same. In contrast to the statistics on children and staff in municipal and self-governing day care institutions, this calculation is not validated in cooperation with the municipality of care. The quality of the two calculations is therefore not comparable. Comparable staff-to-child ratios cannot be calculated for private childcare facilities, as it is not possible to include children who attend private childcare facilities in a municipality other than the municipality of residence.
